Tank Destroyers) will work almost the same even if uptiered.War Thunder is the most comprehensive free-to-play MMO military game dedicated to aviation, armoured vehicles, and naval craft from World War II and the Cold War. My point.HEAVY TANKS (i.e ARMOR) only work if you are top tier in the match.BIG GUNS (i.e. A 2.7 Marder is actually a THREAT to a 3.7 KV1.and the best (or faster) player will win.as any of them can kill (or cripple) the other with first shot. NOT FUN!Ĭonversely.if you take a Marder Tank s armor is virtually useless at ANY BR it plays anyway ).BUT the same is true for the gun. You struggle to find something useful to do. Fun!īUT.if match is 4.7, then suddenly almost EVERYONE can kill you and your gun is no longer effective. You will deflect a lot of shots (be careful of German Tank Destroyers) and be able to damage and kill opponents. Using KV1 as example.if the match is 3.7 (meaning the best tanks are the same level as KV1) you will have very good ARMOR and an adequate GUN. Heavy tanks fare badly in uptiers because their armor is no longer effective AND the gun is then much less useful (in some cases it becomes useless). The reason is the matchmaking and Uptier system. ISU-152 / ISU-122 / IS-2 -> with Sidescraping (good reversegear)Įxcept the British i dont include vehicles above BR 6.0 because >BR 6.0 there is a lot APDS / HEAT-FS going on, which renders most of the armor useless.Īnything labeled "Heavy Tank" would fit your description.īut a fair warning.Heavy Tanks (i.e ARMOR) ARE NOT your best option in MOST SCENARIOS. M4A1 (75) W (China) -> insane Turretarmor for BR Tiger I (H) -> especially because u cant get matched against BR 6.7Ĭenturion Mk.III -> has a very strong/trolly turret for a BR 6.7 MediumĬaernarvon -> same strong/trolly turret + strong Hull Panther (D )-> especially because u cant get matched against BR 6.7 Jagdpanzer IV/70 (V) -> especially because u cant get matched against BR 6.7 IS-1 / IS-2 / ISU-152 / ISU-122 / ISU-122S -> with Sidescraping (good reversegear) KV-1E / KV-1 Zis5 - i wouldnt bother playing something else (KV wise) VII at 4.7Ĭenturion Mk-3, Caernarvon, and Tortoise at 6.7 Instead of memorizing key map points and going to them everysingle time.Ĭhurchills generally, but specifically the Mk. Hell, I even wish the maps were randomly generated everytime a battle starts, so it's always new and exciting. I'd get really bored of constantly playing with the same stuff all the time. Just grabbing some PZIV lineup and play 10000 batles with them over and over sounds really boring to me. Getting something new and then Acing it and getting the camos is what I find most enjoyable, and then getting something new and fresh. I enjoy getting new vehicles and playing with them, the whole sense of progression up a nation's vehicle evolution is very fascinating and exciting for me. I get what you're saying but, what's the point then? You keep telling yourself I simply need the next tank I am getting up tiered to much. Modern tanks are fun to look at but that's about it. Its just faster tanks with better optics and armor that feels less useful. Plenty of variety. The race to top tier is disappointing. Not sure the juice is worth the squeeze anymore.
